    Hi everybody.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
    P

refreshed as the other was getting to long because evryone is wonderful and helpful!!!.:D

Horace you did well about fixing the flat tyre except you should have wrapped the wheel brace round her head4_14_1.gif

We had the opposite thing yesterday, went to a bbq at my brothers , my niece broke the key for her car, stearing lock on but between us all we got the car in my brothers drive , that included the youngsters(would call them little uns but they are all bigger than me)

Well I have behaved in a troll-like manner this afternoon:eek: One of the girls in the flat upstairs had a flat tyre and was standing by her car looking all pathetic. I was by my own car after nipping downstairs to put something in the boot. Me being me, offered to help her (why I bothered I don't know because she doesn't normally bother speaking unlike her girlfriend). She had no tools so I jacked up the car, took off the wheel and then she got narky because I dared to ask her to get the spare out of her boot (she didnt want to break her nails or get her hands dirty:rolleyes: ) so I received a mouthful of abuse. So I calmly put the wheel back on her car and removed my jack and let her suffer:rotfl:

No - that's teaching her that actions have consequences, and receiving charity is a privilege, and not a right.

I guess its kinda odd for a girl to know about cars n stuff. I spent all my life in my dad's garage - I rebuilt and restored my first car when I was 17 (didnt pass my test til I was 21 but got my racing licence at 17). I have since tinkered with motorbikes - changing piston rings and at the NEC did one of the fastest tyre changes (taking tyre off rim and putting a new one on).:D Even built myself a kit car which now resides in my ex's garage:rolleyes:

Well to be honest, those sorts of skills are rare full stop. The only other person I know who can do that sort of thing is my Dad...

However I can change a wheel - my Dad drilled that into me. Can even do it in a suit without getting my hands dirty - I even impressed myself with that one... :rotfl:
