IVA & fee charging DMP companies: Profits from misery, motivated ONLY by greed0 -
well....out of curiosity [or boredom, depends on how reactionary one is]...I've juts scootled over the motoring forum......and what a hotbed of misinformation, anger, abuse, etc I found.
The donkeys were well and truly at it over there....[donkeys being my euphemsim for trolls]...
we are relatively lucky on this forum.....maybe because more people actually know what they're talking about?
i have found this when venturing over to other boards...i tend to read but not join in or i'd just get wound up. we are lucky over here that most people are here for the greater good! so if you are a newbie with questions, please post, we try to help you as best we can0 -
I sometimes go over to other boards which is why I took any reference to my BR off of my signature.
a) don't want any harsh remarks made to me
b) don't want to draw any trolls over to this board

I can totally understand why you do that, but you should not have to. You are no different than anybody else. I for one would defend anybody who was abused in any such way in any forum.

Thanks Stebiz. I did see you posting on another board and made a mental note to remember you in case I needed to pm you - unfortunately I cannot now remember which board or what problem I thought you may have been able to help! Maybe it was regarding CCA?
I'm not afraid of defending myself, I just think why go to the trouble when it really isn't anyone's business anyway. I don't want to 'bring' trolls to this board because some people may not be able to cope and it does put off new people from posting to get the help they need.

I know your not afraid of defending yourself, but sometimes it's nice having a 'heavyweight' in the corner - (oh and I am a heavyweight - but trying to lose some):D
You may have seen the CCA posts. I had 40k plus written off on numerous cards, due to unenforecable CCA's. I was probably one of the first to take them head on about 6 years ago, and have been fighting ever since. It was never actually a case of me ever going bankrupt, because I had a fair bit of capital in my houses, but it did make me realise just how easy it is to build up debt. I have since looked at those in debt through different glasses, so to speak!!

That made me laugh. I am just going to turn 40 this month (ouch) and I remember writing line after line. Oh and the cane. Oh and detention - although I didn't mind that so much in French - our Miss was absolutely gorgeous,:D
As for feeding the trolls. I fell into the trap a few days back and they just don't let go. So just ignore. I know it is easy to say but it really is best in the long run.
