    We need a `message `BUMP I think.
    Hi Everyone,

Not sure if we have this thread over here on BR board but DFW bump this often so that newcomers new & old are aware of the possibility of `troll` issues.

They `bump` it along regularly to keep it in peoples minds. Perhaps it would work over here?

Pania`s words are so brilliant I could`nt better them myself so I copied as below.

    Notice to newcomers re trolls.
    Hi everybody.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
    P

Hi BBD.... thankyou for the BUMP...we just keep this thread so that any viewers & new posters can understand that occasionally there may be replies to their threads that may be over critical & occasionally abusive.

Such is the nature of BR & the extreme stress situation that it brings is why this board exists & it is about support & to discuss BR issues..not berrating someone for how it happened...tbh they all ready feel bad enough. Its about how they deal with it & move on from there that matters.

Heres Martins take on it -

    Dear MoneySavers....

This is a difficult board - many think bankruptcy too easy - and I dare say in some cases it is. Yet others have been through hell, seen family and home torn apart, and its a welcome and deserved release.

I didn't set up MSE to be personally judgemental, but to help people whatever their circumstances. If you have problems with the Bankruptcy laws then the 'Discussion Time' forum is the appropriate place.

This is to help people who are bankrupt rehabilitate their finances - and I personally wish them all the best - whatever their circumstances.

Many people who have gone bankrupt, have had serious debts, have hidden them for a time, been scared to confront them, suffered depression or have even had suicidal thoughts because of them.

So may I caution MoneySavers to err on the side of kindness. The fact bankrupts are here means they're looking for help, guidance and to take charge of their finances - and that in itself is admirable

Please use your knowledge and kindness to help rather than to berate.

If you feel it’s important to point something out that the poster may find negative but needs to understand, then it's not a problem, but do think carefully about your phrasing - people can be very sensitive and nuances may mislead when it’s in an online Forum.

    Hi guys,

I was a little nieve about trolls when I first came on board, everbody has been fantastic, great help and friendly. I would not of thought these things would happen. I am learning with experience as I go on. I have been helped and made welcome by some great people and hate this troll idea.

Now as I take part in the forum I myself try to help people and make them welcome and enjoy taking part with people like myself and will do all I can to help against trolls.

    Cheers Sizzler:j
