Has anyone noticed an increase in visitors from other sections or is it just me? Not implying they're trolls or anything, just curious as to why the sudden increase.

I'm assuming it's because it's been in the news a lot - that and a few discussions that came up on DT which makes people curious I guess

I totally agree BAT...i'll see what happens but if things dont improve then i'll go elsewhere as well because i'm sick of the posts of late the "how can I cheat the system" the "bankrupts are scum of the earth" the "how can I hide things from the OR" and the "you dont know what your talking about" and the classic "how can I avoid an IPA" posts.....sick to the teeth as well reporting posts ONLY to receive messages from abuse accusing me of starting the arguments...i've lost count the number of times abuse has "told me off".....just stupid...and i'm sick to the teeth of having to explain my actions to total strangers only to be insulted & told i've took the easy way out..

This place has changed since I joined 2yrs ago .... to me thought it seems for the worse lets hope i'm wrong

Bat... You really had a confrontation with Martin?!?! Wow... If that was me, it would be my claim to fame lol :D

Anyway, I dont know what the board was like two years ago but even me (mostly lurk and post sometimes) had noticed some non-bankrupt peeps here

Anyway, I am not ashamed of what I have done, not proud either but definitely not ashamed. I think everyone who I would discuss my life i.e. I have moved "why have you moved then, did you sell your house?" I couldn't even be bothered trying to fib my way out of it so basically most people i.e. family, friends, friends in work know all about my situation. If anyone thinks anything of it they certainly haven't let on to me. If though they did, that is their prerogative and they can think what they like, it is me and my children that count.

Nobody chooses bankruptcy if there is an alternative.

My SOA allows me to live a normal life and no, it is definitely not a grand life I lead. I can pay my household bills, feed my children and go out to work. I have pride in the fact that I am doing it and also doing it on my own (and now doing it on my own again as new partner is now new ex-partner - what do I do to them lol, 2 weeks in and enough's enough).

People who look down on bankrupts - I dont care what they think! Hope to goodness they are never in the same boat as any of us because the "shame" would probably kill them.

People who struggle to pay their debts - good on them all, I'm really glad they can; but, that was never, ever an option for me, I physically could not pay any real amount that would make a difference to the actual debt to pay them off. Token payments yes, but as a long term payment method it probably costs more to process than the "token" amount paid. Anyway, I send my goodwill thoughts for free these days :)

I don't know what it was like 2 years ago, I have heard a few :eek:stories
I remember the joy and proudness(sp)
you had when when you got your own board away from DFW:T:A
I was going to suggest that the Bankrupt Inn be renamed
    The Mike St Helens Bar:o

Nobody knows what it means and feels like to go BR until you've been there,
and I respect you all that have, and maybe going through it:T
Nobody wants to see anyone leave because of the narrow minded idiots,
The BG's do a great job :T, and the Abuse Team do seem to look at reports from DFW/BR boards pretty quickly

Its not worse, just differant, at least the Trolls where up front, instead of pretending to be 'one of the gang' two years ago:rolleyes:

Better plan though, its got everyone on edge wondering who is for real or who is a troll:rolleyes:

Bet its the same suspects though;) Shame they dont 'talk' about it openly anymore, since i (and a couple of others) visited:rolleyes:

Phil, I hope it doesn't turn out like then because we know that we aren't scum of the earth, we have struggled and come out the other end not quite unscathed but still in one piece.

It makes me sad to read that you have been insulted re. your own bankruptcy (I am a Liverpool girl also). I have gathered from reading here that you had a particularly rough time. I'm going to contradict myself from my earlier post but for those people don't even bother to explain the whys and wherefores of your BK, just revel in the fact that YOU are now debt free, discharged from the shackles of debt and also bankruptcy. They are probably just jealous that you are now living your life as you wish, no having to think about the card that you just switched to 0% but spent on the other one again and can you really afford the finance, insurance and running costs for 'your' new Mondeo.

The posts that need reporting if that is the answer you are getting then don't bother reporting anymore. Just let them drop off the page, if they are ignoring the postings like that then it will be integrity of the site that suffers in the long run.

Re. the IPA thing, I am a mixed bag about this. If you can afford a lower one (i.e. £50-£100 odd) is it really worth it. I have seen OR's figures on here where they have put a vast sum and, I'm not saying that they are not worth their money, but any IPA/IPO up to about £100 would just be paying the OR's fees for the bankruptcy period so in all intents it does not repay any of the original debts. If you have, say, £300 spare at the end of the month then, of course, part of this should go to repaying some of the debts. I do agree with the maximising your SOA. I have seen people come here with SOA's and had a car but not put down maintenance, people not put down prescriptions etc who would actually have to pay for medication. I know from the amount of times I have gone through my own figures how much I can underestimate things, probably just because I don't like to think how much things are costing me and it sounds better to me if they are less (weird? yes). But, though, I do not agree with the like of "put down pet insurance, the OR will never know if you have one or not" I have seen this on here. Put what you spend, put it on how much it is on a 'bad' month (most months are 'bad' in my house). Any savings made can be used for eg. when your washing machine goes bang and your only other option would be Crazy George's (mine is on it's way out so a sore point at the mo)
