I moved to atlantic because i belive the capped/fixed tariffs are a legal con
Atlantic ARE cheaper at the present time (for us), will play it by ear in respect of increases0 -
Sorry if this is an old question, but does anyone know if the comparison sites include Atlantic's annual loyalty bonus payment of your monthly DD amount?0

I'd like to know this one too. Anyone?.........
Have just changed to Scottish power 2009 fixed, works out around £200 more expensive for us atm. I'm assuming prices will go up by more than this of course. But a very fine one to judge with Atlantic. I've had really great cs from them, and don't really want to change. Am wavering as I type.......0 -

We switched electric to Scottish Power price fix until 2011 as it was only a tiny fraction more than we were paying and we were on the cheapest for us at the time supplier, so it made sense to switch to a fixed price tariff with the planned price increases happening and you can leave at any time without penalty when prices start to drop and there are then cheaper out there, we would have been crazy not to price fix.
Our gas isn't price fixed as the price difference was way too high.
Previously we took the gamble in 2005 not to price fix and went with EDF online (v1) we did well with that for 3 years our prices were a lot lot lower than the competition. This time for electric we are gambling on the price fix, but then when it's only a few pounds per year more than we are currently paying it was a no-brainer.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Have my gas with Atlantic and electricity with BG Click 4. Did a price comparison yesterday and if I fixed I would have to pay over £200 more per year. So I think that I will take a risk and stay with what I have got.0

With that sort of difference, I would take the risk too. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... I've been deciding whether to move from Atlantic to a capped rate somewhere, but i've found that the tariff details on comparison sites seriously over estimate Atlantic's prices when compared to those on Atlantic's website by about 12% on my bill i reckon, any one else notices these problems? have i got my sums wrong?0

You've left the switching to capped deal a little late, if you had checked at least 4 or 5 weeks back the prices on the capped tariffs were lower and you could cap for longer. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... my end , atlantic would have to increase their prices by 18% for me to lose out and they have a good record of the big boys of being last to increase so i am going to ride it out as i dont believe sept/oct 09 is far enough away in terms of a capped deal0

I don't think a years' cap is worth it either, if there's quite a big difference.
We've capped our electricity as there were virtually no difference and it's capped until end of Feb 2011. That was worth taking the gamble, plus we can always switch away if prices start to drop. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
