Fill in a HC1 form, which you can get from your job centre.

Which will not help at all if the OP has a lot of savings, or a partner with a high income.

well i was entitled to some compensation some time ago, i have provided the job centre with the information and they said i wasnt within the criteria to receive job seekers allowance but i still go every week to sign on and look for work so if i dont recieve the allowance will i not get any help with NHS dental treatment?

It sounds like you are not entitled because you have too much capital (above £16K?). In that case, you will not be entitled to assistance with health costs.

what if you have a bit less than 16k would it still be the same?

Capital over £6K will affect your claim, with £16K meaning you are entitled to nothing at all. Remember that this will take into account anything that you have in any bank accounts, not just any lump sums you may have.

    Do you have a partner?
