Thanks for your expereinces guys, have confirmed to me that Icesave is definitely the best ISA provider for me. now just need to transfer from the v.poor NS&I.0

I thought i just like to add.
From NS&I to Icesave it took exactly 7 days too. I just checked my Icesave account and the balance is now showing. Not bad considering I posted the letter last week on Monday.0 -
about 10 days hassle free - Northern Rock to IceSave.
but, egg have messed up on another (the cheque was in the wrong name!) & 14 days on doesn't look like they've sent a new chq to IceSave yet - IceSave were quick to give info on delay due to egg error.0 -
At moneysaving expert's advice, I decided to transfer my Smile ISA into the Alliance and Leicester because of its good one-year rate. However, more than two months after applying for the transfer, it still hasn't been done. The money has now even gone out of my Smile ISA and is no doubt sitting in cyberspace somewhere (hopefully) waiting to be credited to my account. It is really frustrating and I am now thinking I made a mistake.
In addition, for some reason, my previous interest on the ISA has not been transferred. Is this normal?
Best wishes

Depends. Did you ask for a 'specific amount' to be transferred (the amount you had in your account at the time/amount you had deposited minus interest,) or for 'the whole amount'?Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -
Our ISA's are in with Icesave plus this years allowance the only hiccup was ING Bank putting the wrong name on the cheque to Icesave when transferring which Icesave quickly told us about.ING were a bit dilatory in correcting their mistake but after my wife phoned them (it was her ISA) they speeded up at last and gave her an extra fiver interest we have not had a problem with Icesave so far0

I have transferred three ISAs to IceSave without any problem. The last one seem to take 3 days from the closure at the first provider, and the funds being received and credited at IceSave.
Why in these days of instant/electronic transactions do these transfers need to be done by cheque and sent by "snail mail" ?
