Hello to all!
Ive posted quite a few times on here regarding problems with O2 CPW giving me my PAC. I wanted this as the phone i'm after. Anyway, things have got even more complicated, and i'm now looking to stick with O2 but sell whatever new handset they give me.
As im not interested in the handset in any terms apart from its value, what would people recommend? Ill be going onto a £35 18 month contract, so ideally the phone would be free on that tariff via retentions. Am I best off waiting for the 3G iPhone?
Also, is ebay the best method for re-sale?
Thanks for your replies guys, any other pointers are more than welcome!

The most expensive phone O2 do is the O2 XDA Stellar (retails for £450+ as the HTC TyTN II and eBays for £300+) although the new iPhone may be comparable. THe only problem is it tends to not be free (£90 on the £35 18 month tariff).
Looking at the ones you will get for free takes you down to...
Blackberry 8310 with GPS will ebay for ~£200,
XDA Orbit 2 ebays for >£200, maybe £250
LG KF700 ~£200
Nokia N95 8Gb >£200, maybe £300
The iPhone will depend on how much it costs PAYG. Wouldn't surprise me if the market is flooded with non-3G iPhones for ~£200 with the occasional 3G version fetching £300+.*I reserve the right to have an opinion, the right to change this opinion and the right to be wrong.*Hope that helps. why on earth would anyone pay £200 or £300 for a phone on EBay when you can walk into a CPW or O2 shop and get it for £99?!
it's not like any other phone in the way it's sold i.e. you can take it home without a contract. you register at home via iTunes so you can have the phone for the shop purchase price of £99.Signature removed by MSE Forum Team.0 -

Not the new one. You will have to sign the contract there and then in the shop0 -

Sav_c I'm afraid you're mistaken on this one. That was the method of sale for the old Iphone but the reason 3G versions are cheap is because apple has allowed O2 and CPW to subsidise the handset price, and they will no longer allow you to leave before signing the contract. PAYG 3G Iphone is probably going to be retailing at around £300. There is nothing to stop you jailbreaking the Iphone and using it on whatever network you want but sadly the days of cheap Iphones without contract appear to be over!0
