Accidentally bought a bag of oatbran, thinking it was porridge oats. have a bm.
what can i use it for?
you could mix it in with peanut butter and use it on toast, ryvita etc
add it to cereal
add it to bread dough or cake batter (even muffins) but don't add too much as it will be overpowering and always increase liquid when using bran in baking it is like a sponge!0 -

Silly question time. Would i mix the dry fruit in thriftlady - when i am storing it, or just before use? Just in case the fruit makes it go soggy?A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Sadly I can't have cereal and have to be careful with oats so my breakfasts consist of gluten free stones- I mean rolls- eggs, bacon, cheese, rice gruels and reheated leftovers. On my days off I have miso soup with rice and a raw egg beaten in.
Boys love oats and have now accepted Asda's F&F after realising if they want Kellogs they will have to buy it themselves! They also get through a lot of eggs, bacon and beans but I dont mind as they are growing lads and they say you should breakfast like a king. It all balances out at the end of the day..NSD 0/150 -
What about crumpets, Sainsburys Basics are about 35p for 6, you can butter or put a bit of cheese on, mine like them, and they are low in fat0
