Hi, I recently joined Gfk and have filled in all my bank details and information but still waiting for e-mail to confirm that I can now carry out jobs. Does this normally take long? Do they have a wide variety of jobs? I seem to be running out of jobs that I can do for Gapbuster and am looking for some new companies to join.

    Thanks
  • Cant recall getting a mail, but keep checking visits available page and soon enough some will pop up.

Did the underground sandwich shop today for RE, questionnaire looked ok, until I had to put a comment for every single question. Then write a full bleeding report!

Does anyone know of a good memory stopwatch for use in mystery shopping?

I have seen stopwatches with 30 memories for about £10 but I think these only record 'lap times' so it means adding on the 'lap times' to the start of the time of the shop - unless I manage to do all my shops at midnight or noon!

I've decided not to do these jobs any more for RE. I will do for Gap for a lower fee cos it's handy for lunch when I'm working in town and the report takes 5 minutes, not like the RE report which takes 40 minutes!

Thanks Carolwat that advice sounds like what I need to do excel, you're right I have no idea how to use it.:o I was pasting, so not typing, but never the less time consuming. I will have a go.

Ps didn't mention the company by name. That's not something I would do and I thought mentioning the fee was harmless if the company not named. I will remove the fee. Thank you

Sorry, my mistake. It was cookinmummy who named the company but it has now been changed.

Im pleased the shortcut has helped. There are loads of shortcuts in excel :)

From starting the GfK application to being able to pick up jobs took 48 hours for me. May be worth dropping them an email just to make sure. In three weeks I have done 11 jobs for them (mostly telephone).

Re the RE sandwiches, I agree it's so much hassle writing the report. I recently did a job for a company where they have pre-filled answers to select for the Yes/No questions, then just a short typed report at the end. If you answered yes to (for example) "were the windows clean", then another option pops up to select which says "the windows were clean". Saved so much time; I wish RE would do that.

Apologies for writing the company - I didn't think anything of it as I did not mention the fee (stupidly not thinking that the fee was in the quote above!). But, it was innocently done and corrected - I was only trying to be helpful to sinderella.

In some bank assignments like: opening a new account, asking for a loan, PIP, you will get credit checked and everytime this happens you credit score goes down and that is why the pay usually for these jobs is higher than average.
In this shop you will not be credit checked.

OIC thanks Leila, I thought that it meant your rating at the MS company! Thanks for clearing that up :T

The assistant at the computer shop was very patient and stayed with me for as long as I needed (although another customer kept rudely interrupting, wish I could put something about that!). But she didn't really promote the item in question, and I did have to go looking for assistance in the first place.
