I can beat that. They offered me a job in Stornoway. Now it is over 100 miles just to the ferry. Then 4 hours on the ferry. Would have taken me a day to get there and no return same day so would have needed an overnight stop. Being a native Gaelic speaker I would have been welcomed with open arms by the locals and force fed whisky so would have been too hungover to get the next morning ferry. Don't know the gaelic though for "I am a mystery shopper"
Can you picture me getting a phone call from RE. "What was the name of the person who served you. "I don't know I was pi5hed" "Why was your report a week late" "Eh I couldn't find a shop which sold Alka-Seltzer so I had to keep getting a hair of the dog curer then had to go into the local hospital to get a new liver hic hiccup"
Oh and do let me know when you need another visit done in Stornoway.
"I am barred from your database" Why.:rotfl:
It's OK everyone I am in one of my daft moods again.
And Timmne can you imagine my tax return for that one.
:rotfl: Yep - income = £0, expenses = £300 plus a hospital bill of £200 and a new liver....
I was offered a job in california a while back; it was the strangest phone call but they asked me so matter-of-factly that I was stunned.... For a minute I actually wondered if there was a California in the midlands that nobody had told me about! (There is a Boston in Lincs isn't there?!)
I did then however pop on to BARE to see if there were any cheeky flights hanging about0 -
Besides its fairly easy for the tax people to track who works for mystery shopping companies - its not like its cash in hand it all goes through bank accounts and companies have all your details! If you don't get caught that way then you get caught somewhere else along the line and the consequences are pretty severe like Timne said.
If you dont want to pay tax - don't be a mystery shopper. No one likes giving the money away but everyone has to.0 -
Spot on CZ.

I received this e-mail from Gapbuster today (My Birthday)
Dear John,
Thank you for being a mystery shopper for GAPbuster Worldwide.
Following good practice measures, our clients require us to continually provide a broad range of shoppers to complete their evaluations; therefore we periodically review our shopper database. This is a great way to ensure GAPbuster delivers consistent quality results to our clients.
As a result we often remove shoppers from our system, and in this instance, unfortunately you will not be required to conduct any further assignments for GAPbuster Worldwide. We sincerely thank you for your continued efforts to improve the shopping experience for all customers.
We hope your GAPbuster shopping experience has been fun.
Best regards,
UK Shopper Team

I am not too worried as I wasn't that keen anyway.I only joined in May and found assignments and all follow up questions to be stressful.
However I did lots of jobs in May & June for which I haven't been paid a penny. They owe me almost £200 and I,m worried that I wont get this now. I cannot even log into my account to check payments and have no details for tax returns.
Can anyone advise me please?0 -

If they have paid you, it will go direct into your bank (assuming you have given them bank details. Actually, though, I wouldn't worry until the rest of us have been paid - I think they WILL pay you for work already done. Don't start panicking until the end of the month!
If you don't get paid (unlikely)
Have you kept the emails allocating you the jobs you have done? If so, you have the basis for chasing them for payments. Alternatively you can use your spreadsheet. Email suzan.izzet@gapbuster.com with a bill, as a first step.
WARNING TO ALL MSers.
KEEP your emails agreeing to allocate you work, and the emails acknowledging receipt of your work, until you have been paid. This applies to all companies - they all slip up sometimes!!!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Good tip jobbing musician.
I have seperate folders in my saved email for each company I work for so that I can keep track of the emails.
with the companies that don't confirm by email I rely on keeping my paperwork in a file of "waiting to be paid" and its also all on a spreadsheet too. Another good idea is to put the job id number on the spreadsheet too.0 -
