The mystery shopping thread - part 4

I don't know how often GAP's customers use them but I've noticed they haven't had anything in for a while. I finally had an e-mail from them today to say that they had not processed my bank details in time last month so I should get paid for May's work this month - fingers crossed?0

I just applied for Gap last night, are they any good?0

Hi - if you've just began MS'ing then GAP is a good start. Depending on where you live they usually have a few varied assignments. They are notoriously hard to contact though. I've done quite a few fast food shops, telephone shops and travel agent jobs for them and the questionnairs are fairly easy to complete. I haven't got paid yet though - my first payment is due this month so can't tell you what they're like for paying. The fees for GAP aren't particular high but again there OK for starting to give you some experience. Try and work out if you can do a batch of jobs on the same day that way you won'y lose out.0 -
I have recently joined up to market research companies and only seem to be getting work through focusforce, saros and indiefield. I'm with focus4people but I have received nothing.
So...I have decided to give mystery shopping a try. Which companies are best to register with? Is there any that deal specificially with theatre, cinema trips and eating out, etc?
If you reply could you tell me roughly how much money you make and generally what, I understand you can't tell me which companies due to confidentiality.0 -
Thanks Ellie I'll wait to see if I get accepted or not n take it from there.0

I did my first shop for Gap today and it went really well. I do like the short questionnaire
The job was very local to me and we were going to a shop a few doors anyway. Made it worthwhile. Of course I might not think so well of them if I get lots of queries.........
I emailed them about the same job in 2 weeks and they said if the system accepts it then you can do it. And replied to me within 20 minutes!!! I was quite shocked16 x Sanyo HIT 240w panels, 3.84kWp, south facing, 30 degree slope in the SW, 4.4 Eltek HE-t inverter installed 27/03/120 -
OK - I have a stupid question
What does "You can not shop the same site twice in a row regardless of the shop month" actually mean?
I already have a shop booked at a particular branch with a different scenario in 2 weeks time. Now another shop has come up at the same branch for this weekend......its very local so I can I do it or not?
I would ask them but understand their notoriously bad at replying and I'd love to know if I can accept it asap.
Ta v. much!
Not at all a stupid question. As usual, the MS company has not used precise English/Australian.
From talking to them, the rule which they never break, no matter how desperate they are, is that they do not send the same shopper to the same shop twice in a row, without another shopper visiting it in between. I think this is what this convoluted sentence is designed to mean.
It's worth applying for any Gap jobs you fancy, though, as the system will reject you automatically if you are ineligible - I have always assumed that you don't get penalised for this automatic rejection. You cannot tell whether another shopper is due to visit 'your' shop since your original visit (not all jobs make it on to the job board).

Did a phone shop for GFK today as the fee was very generous I thought, until I have just spent the last few hours logging my report :rotfl: it is much more in depth than it seems and it took me ages
Can't decide whether to take the RE pharmacy job, I have a prescription but really don't need the recommended product that I will have to buy (I guess I can give to my dad ) but then you have to speak to pharmacist about it after you have bought it?? It all seems the wrong way round to me.
I have just decided against it as their reports are quite big too and not worth the small fee IMO :rotfl:

It's weird how some things you think look ok turn out to be anything but, and things that seem complicated turn out easier than you thoughtThe phone shops have never appealed to me, or I haven't seen one worth doing yet........
I went and looked a shop I'm doing for RE and it will be a challenge trying something on in there - it's tiny lol! It'll be my first for them though and I'm kinda dreading the report already.
