My dad has a Ford Fiesta flight(Y reg), this afternoon a little engine sign starting flashing on the dashboard, anyone know what this means. The handbook doesn't say what it is just to reduce speed and take it to a Ford garage straight away(shut till Monday) the car does sound rough when you accelerate though . Is it going to blow up?
If it has tyres or testicles, it's gonna give ya problems..

Unlikely to blow up. It seems likely that a sensor has failed. If you take it to a garage they should have diagnostic equipment to check what the fault is. A ford garage might be more expensive than a smaller independent place though.

what is really annoying is people not understanding what an mot actually is.
it is not a service,it has nothing to do with the engine,or its management system.

get the car serviced, this is probably what it really needs.

it probably sounds rough because the engine is in limp mode, possibly only running on 2 or 3 cylinders,i know some fords do this to reduce the chance of engine damage if it is overheating.
