no i don't have a website, the details are from show results and club pages, it lists the breeders/exhibitors name and address on some of the results, i didn't realise that so much info was available so readily, it's quite scary really :eek:Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

What you have to remember is that to some its a business , its harsh but true.If a business is not advertised then its has no clients , customers etc.The info gleamed from schedules and catalogs for shows is easily obtainable from any club secretary , or dog show. For the discerning profiteer (see using animals as live stock) THEY need to have the name and number for that reason displayed at all opportunity .....some even have liveried vehicles....now thats no hobby , hope the tax man catches up soon with kc info.....and dont get me started on these 1st/2nd income tax EVADERS.
My rule of thumb is if they have more than two dogs , there will plenty more in kennels out the back , then look elsewhere....unless you want to be like them and need that prestige name to start that trhiving puppy farm.To these people the dogs are nothing more than a meal ticket , dogs should have the roam of a house like they are family.
Dogs are more than mere pets and livestock , they are what teaches us to be human , they are our family and friends and ask little from us in return for their love.0 -

Your first port of call should be a dog club dedicated to your breed , I assume your a member of one , its secretary will usually have a list of people wanting a pet.
Perhaps youve been going around this the wrong way , most dogs I know DONT need to be advertised for sale....if your having problems selling them then perhaps it was an ill advised litter and for profit rather than anything else.0 -
Hi
it was not an ill advised litter or not something i have done for profit! i feel insulted by your remarks.
i was just asking for advice thats all maybe next time i will not bother.0 -

I bred my 2 lady dogs once a year and hubbys every second year, yes some of the pups were pre booked and some sold via word of mouth but we did have to advertise the rest of them, we used our local yellow/blue paper mostley for free ads but selling puppies and other stuff came under trade so you will have to pay for the advert. When our puppies were born i put a price tag on them cause if i didnt i would have kept the lot which was impossible to do but it helped me to detach from them as they are so cute and adorable, had i been doing it for profit i would have picked dogs which had huge litters but i didnt, my dogs had 3 puppies maybe 4.
I would ignore the post about ill advised litter, if your asking for help re naming them the pups must only be a few days or 2 weeks maximum and therefore not having problems selling them as they are not due to be sold till they are 8-12 weeks, but i would be looking to advertise them when they are about 5 weeks (take deposit)and looking to home them when 8-12 you can gage when the time is right and when kindest to mum to let them go, also it gives prospective buyers the time to get there house in order for a new puppy;) Any more help just give me a shout. The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Have you had a bad experience? your words seem a bit harsh.
I had 5 dogs all in 3 girls a 2 boys and with every litter we called the taxman and they confirmed i wouldnt have to pay tax as the income is too little, yes we all have gripes with puppy farms but buyers should be aware most puppy farms have more that 2 breeds sometimes up to 5 and wont show the parents of the pups, most of the breeders i know can always show mum but i could show them both, even breeders listed via the kennel club do advertise pups in the papaer and there is nothing wrong with that.
But there is a differance between breeders and puppy farms, lets not get mixed up and tag the breeders as bad.The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Hi
My parents have a prefix and just call all the pups names that suit them.( Im saying nothing on that one) Weve had Lottie Tyson Bruno and all sorts.
Infact my dogs name is my user name and my little girls called after her!Mad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
