Cheapest way to text Vodafone OZ Mobile

Been searching for ages but all info seems to be out of date.

I just want to be able to text from my PC to my G/F in OZ for a month before I get there.

Can't be bothered with 2 mobiles and sending SIMS and what not, just need to know if there is a, prefferably free or very cheap way of doing this online?

    No it's not, didn't take one with her, just bought a OZ Vodafone SIM out there.

    If I have to pay I have to pay, but I'd rather it free obviously :)

    Maybe there should be a text checker made as well as a call checker ;)

    Also what is the cheapest way of texting from my mobile using vodafone?

    Going through one of the WAP providers I guess, but again which one and how much does dialing up to these cost p/m on and off peak after using my inclusive minutes, I take it my minutes get used for WAP connection??
