royal mail recorded delivery to Scotland - still not arrived

I have given up on recorded as virtually nothing I send using it gets signed for. I have a batch of recorded slips on my desk at the moment waiting to go into the RM as they are not showing as delivered online yet I know they have arrived. Royal mail have said that they will compensate me for the loss of the 72p for recorded service which I did not get.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. might as well just sent 2nd class and saved a quid..
how they intend to find my item if it becomes 'really' lost is beyond me, if as they say is not tracked like special dels are..
how would it be guarantee'd?
honestly people need to realise the costs invloved in the logisitics of collecting/delivering letters far outweight the prices
RM have targets to try and achieve on 1st class
the target is 93%,last figures i saw were at 85%
just yesterday i had someone phone the office to complain the 1st class letter posted the day before hadnt arrived0 -
recorded delivery is the pits0

If I want something delivered next day - I pick next day delivery, as in 'special'.
I must be very lucky in where I live, I do not have any problems with royal mail.
Other carriers I find a nightmare. We've had parcels, missing, stolen and just plain 'dumped'.Genie

areas vary,my office doesnt make good reading by the set benchmarks
however these failings are down to one thing, the cuts
these are set at national/regional levels so you need to work around what is required from the office and the budget given
we have been cut to the bone, every day managers are now taking mail out as there is really no staff to take it out
rm refuse to pay overtime or recruit staff so how to they expect these targets met?0 -

We must be lucky in the south east - although saying that, I've had some orders via Amazon of late and they have come from Scotland - got them in a couple of days. My crocs included - although as my toe hurts, not sure that is a good thing
but thats another thread......... Genie

Why is everyone mentioning Scotland as if it's a foreign country?"Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

I think that it is because that is where the OP sent the post to. So therefore, it is relevant. Nothing personal for goodness sake!eyelinerprincess wrote: »Why is everyone mentioning Scotland as if it's a foreign country?Genie

If that happens what I do is say it never arrived and get a much compensation as I can, even though it did.
