Did you get the 19.9% apr as well ??[/html]
Hi Clio
Yes it was 19.9% and I vey politely told them what they could do with their card.
Funnily enough, tubby hubby has just applied online and we have waited nearly 30 minutes for the online decision which is only supposed to take 60 seconds, I'm not a betting person but on this occasion I would bet that in 4 or 5 days he will receive an acceptance letter and agreement to sign for an entirely different offer. I honestly think that Capital One will continue to advertise these deals and change the offer unless lots of us complain to the appropriate financial regulator.0 -

Go to the balance transfer card range
http://www.capitalone.co.uk/creditcards/balance-transfer-range.jsf
and hover your mouse pointer over for people with an excellent credit rating
likewise good credit rating

I too have been accepted, but 0% on purchases only not BT's, and only til Oct 08. APR of 24.9%, and a limit of only £500.

I think they just make it up as they go along!

Hubby and I have had a capital one credit card for 8/9 years - we used it for the odd thing and cleared off monthly.we then had an offer of 0% for so many months on a platinum card and so we applied.
Initially we were offered a shorter 0% interest free period and a higher apr.
The existing card we were on had a limit of £15k and a lower apr - we were just interested in the 0%.
When hubby spoke to advisor to ask why - she had no answer
After pursuing for a few weeks they relented and offered the initial deal - with a limit of £2k!!!!
I would really like to know how many of these people get the deal that's advertised??
As for our credit rating - never had any late payments - hubby job 10 years with excellent salary - credit/mortgage payment utd home address 10 years also. married with kids???
income not a problem - cant see why thats not excellent???0 -
This just happened to me. I applied for the 0% on purchases and transfers until November 2009 and was offered one for purchases until December08 and transfer until December09. When I phone capital one they insisted I had applied for the offer I was given and were unable to transfer me onto the deal I wanted. I had to cancel the application and re-apply. I just cancelled and asked if the search could be removed from my Credit History. The guy on the other line didnt even know what I was talking about when I mentioned the mark left on my credit history by capital one with no actual card to go with it (i.e. a possible failed application).
I wonder how may people have signed the agreement without realising they're not on the original offer they had applied for.0 -
My husband also applied for the same deal as me to see what would happen and surprise surprise he was accepted twice sent 2 applications to sign both for different deals to the one applied for and both offering different interest rates, and different timescales on balance and purchases! I think the offers are an absolute con.0

I was asked to supply various personal documents to prove the identify of an additional card colder, which I did.
These were duly returned, together with 3 proof of ID documents from another individual.
Really makes me glad I changed to Capital One, they are obviously very careful with peoples personal data.:rolleyes:Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

My letter of acceptance arrived today.
I guess I struck lucky in the cap one draw because I got what I applied for...
.. 0% till Nov 2009
I should pay it back waaaay before then.0 -
similar story with me
applied for the interest free deal to Nov 09. declined but pre-approved for the May 09 deal. I definitely meet all their criteria for 'excellent' credit rating as defined on their website. Also have access to experian/equifax data and all seems fine on there too. Recent experian credit score was 999
Tempted to tell them to stick the deal they are offering. The credit limit of £1000 is also pathetic. May apply for a different credit card0
