Stick with BT+AOL or switch to Virgin Media?

We are moving at the end of this month and just found out that the old tenants in the place we're moving to disconnected from BT as they opted for cable. Now were under the impression that we'll be landed with a £125 reconnection charge.........
Considering that we currently pay £10.50 pm for BT line and £9.99 pm to AOL for 2MB 'unlimited' broadband and anytime calls, do the wiser ones amongst you feel it is worth us paying to get reconnected in the new place to keep our existing deals or should we opt for a cable service?
Frankly, were not too interested in virgin's TV packages as freeview is sufficient.......but we may go with them if broadband+phone with them works out cheaper without the connection charge......

I'd be interested to hear any views on this as I am in the exact same position, paying £10.50/month line rental to BT plus £15/month to Tiscali for BB (no longer locked into a contract with either) and moving house to a place where in all likelihood I am going to get hit with a monster £125 connection fee for nothing.
Also not interested in Virgin's TV package as I already have a freeview box which will suffice.
I'd be quite keen to get Sky TV though and broadband is essential.
Any thoughts very gladly received!0 -
Some people say BT never charged them for previous tenants disconnecting......others say they were indeed charged........
Is it just a luck of the draw?
If it helps, weve been with BT for line rental for over a year already at the current property.........0
