Ok, I've now made sure they're all enabled and tried to start Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service but get the same error message!
i think it will be easier to use tversity (link is in my 1st post in this thread) as it worked fine for me using a computer with windows server 2003 installed.

I've downloaded TVersity but I'm frudged if I know how to use it! I've read the getting started guide but can't get any of my media into it and I don't understard why you have to navigate to the server page through the brower because when I do this my internet stops working!

i add the files i want to share by clicking on the sharing tab then file > add file (or add folder) > add the files you want and click submit > run the media server scan on the ps3.

i find its easier to use the all music or all videos categories when you browse through the files on the ps3

start > run > type "services.msc" > scroll to TVersityMediaServer and start it (if its greyed out, set the startup type to automatic in the properties window)

otherwise if that doesnt work, check the firewall rules on the computer to see if tversity is allowed internet access

It's probably being blocked by your firewall, you need to configure the firewall to allow Tversity to be seen.
