How long does it take for HSBC to reply back on credit card applications. If I had been accepted wouldn't the card show up in the account section of internet banking. basically what happens next? thanks.

I heard back by email after a few hours of application to say I'd been approved - But I don't hold a HSBC bank account ...

Your application may need to be reviewed manually by a human, so the earliest you should hear from them is Monday afternoon.

Do they definietly only check Equifax for their credit card applications?

I called and they told me Experian. Only differnce is I have 2 fewer searches on my Equifax file.

No, I didn't have any searches on Equifax from HSBC ... Just 3 unrecorded searches on Experian ... Don't know about Call Credit as I don't subscribe to them ...

I was under the impression it was equifax, but alas I see a check on experian.

They will see the previous searches and blow a rasperry at me :(

I'll eat my hat if they don't (I'll have to buy a hat first)

I think I'll have to forget applying for cards for a while..........

  • How do I find out if I have been accepted? Should the card show up in my internet banking if accepted?
