POssibility of going back to CCCS with tail between legs !?!

The reason CCCS are generous is because you can't get credit again so you need to put money away in savings for things like appliance breakdowns, emergencies.
It is very hard for people to comprehend what a DMP is like its OK if you know you have an overdraft to rely on, or if you car breaks you know you can get finance etc etc but its a different world for those of us on a DMP.0 -
ive been on a DMP but then decided to go it alone, think i would still be ok - my thoughts are im going to leave it as it is for a month or 2 and see how im gettin on - will all keep you updated xFocusing on clearing the credit cards in 2018 :T0

Ok went online with CCCS - and online chat - they went through EVERYTHING- did income with TC going right down to £40 per month or so (this isnt the case but i checked online and thats the probability) also went of mine and OH lowest bring home (worse case scenario) and they wont offer us a DMP as judging by the figures we wont have enough to even cover priority debts with nothing lest for debt repayment - how can this be so? and what do i do - do my bidget myself, work out what i get we have left and write to creditors myself directly to offer payments?Focusing on clearing the credit cards in 2018 :T0

hi dotty,
you shouldnt think of going back to CCCS as a bad thing, more a ton of bricks off your shoulders. you need to talk to CCCS with a 'realistic' plan of how much you can afford. as long as you can afford at least £5 to each creditor, you shouldnt hear anything from them. glad to hear you think ahead, im the same, and work myself up into a frenzy, and things never turn out to be as bad as predicted usually.0 -
I would take a look at the National Debtline website, you are probably a victim of this website living far below what the average person manages on so according to their figures you should be struggling.
If the above is the case then maybe doing your own DMP could be a solution but please be careful do not be too over generous and offer too bigger payments to creditors as you will have to remember to save for everything then have a savings bit aside for the things you can't imagine happening.
National Debtline do a budget sheet which you use to send to creditors and also a downloadable booklet with all the information in you should need.0 -
think once i get firm confirmation of what tax credits will be i will do a brief SOA and ring CCCS to see if they can help...will let you all know how it goes - thanks :-)Focusing on clearing the credit cards in 2018 :T0

me too - i ended up having to pay an overpayment from like 3 years ago last year of 53.85 per month (final payment end of this month) but coz of hubbys job changing twice i never know where were up to - i have the feeling weve been overpaid for last year tho...really concerned we wont be able manage if it goes down to somehitng minimal i.e. 40.00 oer month or so :-(Focusing on clearing the credit cards in 2018 :T0
