Most independent phone shops/ market stalls will unlock your phone [£10 £15] - or contact Tesco for an unlock code - again about £15 I'd guess.
As I understand it a 'blocked' phone is something different - Don't networks block phones that have been stolen?

The terms "unlocked" and "unblocked" are often misused.
