Faster payments - who can send and receive

It might be a complex roll-out which will take time to fully implement. But it should have all been done years ago. At the same time the banks are chopping and changing the maximum amounts that can be transferred online without telling anyone in advance. Laughable corporate governance, p***-poor customer service, high & punitive charges, exploitative interest rate policies, reckless lending, obscene remuneration packages -- our banks really are a bunch of charmers these days aren't they.

Halifax were doing faster payments for a few days, but stopped about a week ago!

Definately worked for me but it was only a £1 "test"

just realised it may be because I have a Cardcash account and not a full current account, will have to ring them and check.

Just tried to send £10 as a faster payment, but the first date it could be sent is the 14th.

If I wanted to send £1 it would go today.

Looks like they are still testing the systems so we will have to wait a bit longer for a "real"faster payment

I've just sent £1 to FD...arrived instantly.

Getting excited, I tried £1,500 then £1,000 then £500 then £250. Wasn't having any of it so lost patience and tried £1.01

Result..."sorry no can do, your £1.01 payment will leave on 14/10/08"

Pathetic!!

I did try last week but ended up sending a cheque, it was quicker.
