Hi there, I don't often post, more of a lurker, but when I read this I had to reply! I did the same thing last month and we managed to get something called wine away (or something like that!), even after 24 hours when we put it on it still came out, works really good.

Can't remember the exact name but if you do a search it will come out, our carpet is cream too! Hope this helps.

Louise - does your room still resemble a slaugherhouse or have you mopped most of it up?

Bloody hell!!!! The more I wipe the wall the worse it is getting....seem to be wiping the paint off now (matt cream colour) I have my laptop on the top of a sideboard So the wine just bounced off the wall and ran all the way down to the carpet.

OH came in and said he would clean the carpet but I can see a full room redecoration on the cards hear SHITBLOODYEFFINGPANTS!!
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Have you tried using some salt to soak it up?

I heard that pouring white wine on red wine can help (adding insult to injury I think). Try Sparkle's idea.

    I'll google it for you.

Yep....pour white wine over the stain, add lots of salt and rub gently. Let me know if it works.

Thanks for that hun xx OH is going to get the carpet cleaner out which we bought when we got the carpets fitted as we thought it would save us money...........we have definately had our moneys worth out of it as it has come to our rescue on many a "spilled beverage" occassion.

Its the wall I am worried about.
