Ok Thanx. It was the address that seemed a little incomplete. Just the nature of the docs i'm sending as happily used simple freepost addresses for other things.
If your identity is worth anything at all to you, pay the £4+ and send them special delivery - it's not a big price to pay for peace of mind and knowledge it's reached them next day. I also think that RM will take more care if you pay them
You can still use the Freepost address - just pay the nice lady in the post office the extraYou've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...:cool:0 -
Hi, first post.
Just opened an account with KE. They have asked me to send proof of ID, copy passport and original statement or bill to a simple two word freepost address. Is this correct??
I knew they might need to comfirm ID, just annoying as passport is in the post being renewed.
Thanks.
SB
Like you, i questioned KE's freepost address, but it did work OK.0 -
You don't have to send your passport, only a photocopy of one page is required.0

My experience with Kaupthing hasn't been great...
I've opened the account no problem, transferred the money into it also no problem.
But all I want to do, is change my linked account. With other providers, such as Birmingham Midshires or Icesave, I can do this easily online without any hassle With Kaupthing, there are no clear instructions to do this. So I had to ring them, they provided me with their freepost address, I have to send a photocopy of my passport and original copy of my bank statement.
My problem was, I don't have any bank statement (it's all paper based online), they don't accept printed online statements. So I went into my bank to get a letter just to cofirm my addrses, account number and sort code. But that letter was apparently lost in the post. So I got another one sent, and the bank letter was declined, so maybe I have to wait 3 months for a bank statement to arrive just to change my linked account. If you e-mail them through your online account, they take 3/4 days to reply. Kaupthing also made a number of spelling mistakes on the letter they sent me. So overall, I am not happy with their service, in fact, I want to close my account.
I am a lot happier with Icesave's swift responses and online service.0 -
see my previous posts on page one of this thread: 15 days plus and no email received. Others here have received excellent service: my balance is zero and will stay that way, if they can't even send out an email.BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

I sent out my passport copy and statement to the freepost address on Friday. Today I found it back at home without anything written or stamped on the envelope. Did I do anything wrong, or was it just the post office being crazy? Should I just drop it in the post box again and hope for the best?0
