well, the rate for bonds is fixed anyhow (so that's not a prob): my experience is thus: letter with password received; email confirming details of username etc still not received - 13 days and counting :(

Have you tried calling them? I've heard that they're very helpful.

^yes, thanks Lucy: they gave me the details over the phone immediately; that's not my gripe. what i do not understand is why they cannot provide the info in an email also (they promised to and i like the info in print/writing also, either letter OR email). maybe i am being pedantic, but i won't fund the account until they confirm the details by email.

My email took 3 days to get to me (I was away for the weekend anyway, so it made no difference), but it started:

This is a copy of an e-mail sent to you after completing your application, but we believe it may not have reached you hence why we are re-sending. Should you have already received this e-mail and accessed your account online then no further action is required. Sorry if this causes you any inconvenience.

It's a hotmail account... I don't know if an overzealous spam filter stopped it. Just trying to say that it might not be their fault.

^already checked my spam box; and their original email confirming confirmation of account open was received without a glitch (two days after registering online); my problem is a simple one: if they cannot even send out a confirmation email with details...then i won't fund the account. i know most people on the forum have had excellent results from KE; i'm probably just being pedantic, but I want the details confirmed by email (they promised this)...14 days tomorrow: quite bizarre. they gave me the details over the phone but can't send out the promised email

You can never be too careful with money, so I don't blame you for waiting. It does seem strange that they won't. It's extra work, but how about writing to them, requesting details in writing or by email?

I got the same thing. To be honest I'd put it down to a technical fault with one of their systems which after a period of time was flagged up - they then looked at the logs and resent everyone a mail between when it first started and when they found the fault.

Nothing that serious, things break in a technology driven world.
  • Hi, first post.

Just opened an account with KE. They have asked me to send proof of ID, copy passport and original statement or bill to a simple two word freepost address. Is this correct??

I knew they might need to comfirm ID, just annoying as passport is in the post being renewed.

    Thanks.

They appear to ask for ID randomly, probably to meet their obligations under anti-money laundering legislation.

If you check on this & other KE threads, some have been asked to send ID, others (myself included) have not.

Yes it's normal, some will need to do it, others won't. Anti Money Laundering regulations require ALL I'd's to be verified.

Send them a copy of your photocard Driving licience (if you have one), if not you'll have to wait til you get your passport back as they were the only two forms of ID accepted when I received an e-mail from them. The e-mail you received will also tell you that.
  • Ok Thanx. It was the address that seemed a little incomplete. Just the nature of the docs i'm sending as happily used simple freepost addresses for other things.
