Wow, this is a really good thread, its fascinating to see that other people plan their week’s food as nerdily as me!
Menu plan 20th June
Friday: End of the week so it’s a healthy homemade pizza with homemade coleslaw and a glass of wine (or two) to usher the weekend in.
Saturday: Stuffed peppers with home made hummus and a side salad
Sunday: Good old fashioned Roast, (chicken pieces with homemade roast potatoes, mashed sweet potato and Mediterranean vegetables and red wine gravy)
Monday: Lentil Spaghetti Bolognaise
Tuesday: Homemade burgers and chunky potato wedges served with homemade coleslaw (from Friday) on homemade granary bread rolls.
Wednesday: Poor mans paella- A concoction of rice, vegetables, tuna, handful of prawns and a tin of tomato soup
Thursday: Butterbean curry with a leafy side salad and homemade cucumber and mint raita
For Breakfast no set menu but we have choice of
Muesli, Porridge-( with either brown sugar or stewed apples), Yogurt and fruit (and honey if naughty) Weetabix , Fruit salad
And as for lunch: Tomorrow I’m gonna do a big batch of 3 soups: lentil, leek and potato, and freshly picked nettle (!) and then freeze/fridge portions to last the week. I’ll also make up a big pasta salad and a rice salad and people can dig in
For those interested in budgeting this menu cost me no more than £35+ the odd pint of milk. :j The tips on here are really helping me push my limits!:D
I hope everyone enjoys their grub this week, will be really interesting following this thread!
