Bought a Samsung D500 on Orange at start of march, so about 7 months into contract, paying £25pm plus £5 orange care, want to cancel the contract buyt notice on the sales sheet it says no downgrade for 12 months (maybe cos I did MGM and £50 trade-in), do you think they enfore this? Rather not pay £30pm for something I don't use, prefer to downgrade to £15pm tariff and pay remaining line rental, orange care cancels instantly, and I get a 5% discount iirc.

Try it.
Nothing bad can come out of asking, the CS advisor may not even have that information available to him, just play innocent if he does.
Although they are legally allowed to enforce it if they wish, as the line rental was that much to cover the cost of the handset and they as a business do not want to lose money. Remember though, on average there is £220 commission on every mobile contract.DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society
