Does anyone know how long bank accounts are frozen for??

What i've found with being BR is that its better to pre-empt any potential issues and deal with them before they happen (like what your concerned about with your bank account for example)
Before BR it was always reacting after which is why the debts kept mounting with charges etc.:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
True wasp so true...I'll give them a ring and let them know im BR just incase they havent found out yet, i've withdrawn money for use this month until i next get paid as i knew account would be frozen. i just never give it a 2nd though regarding the DD's before the BR..so many other things on my mind before then.
I'll let you all know on my thread what they say about it

Hi peachy,
i've just got my letter regarding OR interview on 27th June. It says nothing regarding my Bank Account although when i spoke to them yesterday morning they said they would contact the bank and inform them they had no interest in my account. i thought they may have been a comment to this effect in the letter.
Do you think i shold contact my bank and see if they have had contact or give it a couple of days?? I get my salary paid in at the end of the month so i've got some time until then but wasnt sure exactly what the correct procedure is too. Also i have a couple of DD's to come out..not sure exactly what dates..will they be declined if the Account is still frozen??
Dave.
Which bank it it with Dave?
We were with Barclays, the OR wrote to them to say they had no interest in the account, and told us we could carry on using it. 2 weeks later Barclays very kindly closed it and sent us a cheque for the balance, this despite us phoning them several times and being assured they wouldn't close the account!!Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Hi PP..yes its a barclays basic cash card account. Had it since march last year after advice from CAB to set up a new account. The OR have said no interest in it already so i guess i'll contact them and see what they say.
I guess i'll need to ring the head office to discuss this?
i hope they live up to reputation as a BR friendly bank and dont close it, i've never had debts with Barclays or any problems with account and they can see my salary every month so maybe they'll be nice and friendly with me!:D

Fingers crossed Dave

Lloyds have been "good" to me .. despite not being BR friendly they've kept my cash account and savings account open and just sent me a new full VISA debit card .. tried paying in a tenner then withdrawing it and its all working fine
:D
I actually use my coop account for everything but it's nice to have it there (especially the savings account):hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
Good luck Dave, ours was a current account they closed, although no o/d facilities.
When I get home tonight I'll see if I can find the letter from the actual department that deals with accounts after BR for you, it had a different phone number on.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
