    thats not necessarily a bad thing - this is an advocated revision technique.

    also, teachers often use the "im an alien that has just landed from the planet zogg. explain to me what an inert gas is" as a way of testing how much kids have taken in

    i feel so stupid when i can't help her with her homework because i don't understand it. she then spends most of the time trying to explain things to me.
    I wouldn't feel stupid, DH and I aren't stupid but we can't understand what DS3 (also not stupid) doesn't understand when he says he can't do his hw because he doesn't understand it ...

    But maybe you'd enjoy the Horrible Science books! I think they're great! There's also Murderous Maths if you think that's a weak spot for you.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    I get the horrible Science Mags for my son and also bought the DK/Google Encyclopedia of Science.
    There's a website and refence for every article and it explains just about everything in plain English
    Don't forget the google scholar site Can be a bit complex sometimes but we use that as well.
