When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today i will:
Finally stopped raining here, might even see some sun today:rolleyes:
Hope everyone has a good day - not long to the weekend now:D
Welcome to any new posters:D

I checked my utilities at uswitch due to a letter from e.on telling me they were increasing our DD for gas and electric. While there are several options on there, what's the best way to do it and get cashback?
For example if uswitch tells you British Gas is cheapest etc, do you then look at it via quidco, and use BG's switching policy etc?"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0 -
Make sure you clear cookies between uswitch and quidco or it may not track as quidco. I need to do a comparison soon and will go via quidco for some pennies back.
Today I have:- Checked banking
- Checked for mystery shops
- Housework - free exercise and feelgood factor
- Washed 4 loads of quickwash and line dried in the mad wind
- Checked london sites for touristy things to do that are free
- Tried to work out if we are better with a 3 day travelcard or an oyster card for the london trip, anyone know

- Requested an under 16s oyster form for free travel, and found out that my under 11s can travel free without one :j
- Cut out another free swim voucher from empty Kelloggs box - 4 now
- Put more change in sealed pot
- Breakfast and lunch from stores
- Paid off my usual today and updated my sig

- Do PB CT and comps
- Research more london stuff and start to form an itinery
- Draw cash out on my way past to save using card and getting carried away
(it is sooooo good that I dont have a credit card!) - Sort out my mammoth clothes mountains and finally get it all put away
I hate doing it, but once its done I love it and it will make me feel so much better!
Any help from you lovely Londoners on travel would be gratefully recieved! I am trying to be really tight/moneysaving and dont want to blow it in this department! I really need zone 1-3 but all I can buy in travelcards is zone 1-2 or zone 1-6 which is £40 each
Thank you my lovelies!!!0 -

I usually check with one of the price comparison sites and then check with quidco to see if they offer cashback and depending on what i get the most money for,i go with that.:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

Hey cleosmum... you should be able to get a 1-4 travelcard when you get here, that's what I always used to get for my sis when she came up for the day when I lived in zone 3. If you do the oyster thing not sure how it works with zones... my work pay for my travelcard
best perk ever! I'll get a leaflet from the tube for you 2mw if you like and see what would work out best.
PS for the under 11s you need to get the attention of a member of staff to let them through I think, that's what I see mini people doing (but you don't get many on the tube the times I travel!)0
