OOOH! - Is this a potential U-Turn for a DEA? Advice needed please

Hi all, For those that don't know me, I've been posting here with regards to a F&F Settlement Offer to my creditors. Today I've received this one (it's a bit long so bear with me):
Dear Mrs X (the beautiful, talented, blond bombshell - sorry it's my GSOH)
I have news that could bring some assistance to you. Although your personal loan account number xxxxx is severely in arrears, I have a possible remedy. However, you will need to call me, in person, when you receive this letter. Hopefully this will prompt you to pick up the phone.
I will be able to discuss a Partial Settlement on your account. This means we could agree to write off a signaificant proportion of your full personal loan balance. We only offer this to a small number of customers and it is important that you act quickly to show you are serious about taking positive action. We don't make these offers to everyone, so I urge you to act now by calling me personally on xxxxxxx.
Imagine what a release it would be to have this worrying situation under control? It would give you the freedom to think about other things and it might even help you sleep better at night. I hope to speak to you very soon.
Matt xxxxx (the gorgeous, handsome male in the office - SORRY!):D
Now that's all very well, BUT I don't want a Partial Settlement I want a F&F! AND I can't phone because I am deaf (this is the truth).
Does anyone have any thoughts on this, and what angle do you think I should take with them?
Loads of thanks. x Babbit

OR is this a normal letter which alot of DEA's send out?.

Re-send your original F&F letter again and ignore this one. They smell "blood" as in, you are receptive to a potential deal and they want to wiggle one over you.
And I agree with the partial settlement - they can and will come back for the rest.0 -
Sorry Babbit, sounds pretty typical to me.
I have a sneaking suspision that the DEA will try to flog you an IVA by the tone as well.
I personally would respond to the lovely Matt re-iterating your F&F offer and also informing him that all communication has to be in letter.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

Thanks for that - should I say at this point (bearing in mind this is the third F&F request that I will be sending), that the offer will remain until such a date for F&F only, and that after this date the offer made will be withdrawn, so that I can offer a different creditor the same proposal?.
(does this make sense?)

I would say yes. Say that the offer is for say 14 days and then you will consider that the offer has not been accepted and therefore the amount will no longer be available to them.LBM £18463.32 in debt 10th June 2008,£12470.99 in debt 10th June 2009.:jTime flies like an arrow.

I personally wouldn't only because I tend to favour the 'I have a fixed amount availible to me from a 3rd party and I must treat all my creditors equally' line.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

Hi Pixie and NUFC, I've just typed a letter to the gorgeous Matt.
However, I have included both of your comments, saying that
1. Can't phone cos of the deaf problem,
2. Unable to accept KIND Partial Settlement offer but thanks anyway
3. given 2 weeks or I'll withdraw and offer to someone else and
4. offered the same amount again cos this is all I have.
Hopefully after this letter (no 3) he might actually grasp the contents of what I am wittering on about! - lol.

I don't suppose you have mentioned in the past about your deafness?

I'm in a particularly foul mood tonight (hence not been on the boards) and a little evil streak in me just fancies being really nasty to them...
"Dear Mr super sexy person thingy,
Thank you for your recent letter offering me a solution to my financial problems. I believe you have already recieved my offer of a full and final payment on this debt of £x which if you could be kind enough to confirm in writing would be infact accepted as my full and final settlement.
I am a little upset about your references asking me to phone you as I have already explained that I am deaf. Surely you do not seek to mock my disability or simply seek to try to humiliate me because I am disabled?
I do of course trust that you only make references to contacting you by phone as you have in fact failed to read my letters which incidently were recieved by your offices on the "insert date" and signed for upon delivery.
As the letters are in yoru companys possession then I can only assume your reference is for the former and nor latter reason and this does deeply pain me as I am sure you can appreciate having any registered handicap riddiculed is cruel and I believe illegal?
I will repeat my offer for a full and final settlement of £x and as soon as I have your letter of confirmation that the amount is acceptable as Full & Final then I shall immediately make arrangements for the money to be sent to you.
Until such a time I thank you for not further causing me distress by taunting me about making phonecalls and I remain as allways:
Sincerely yours
RunnyBabbit..."
Ok ok ok Im in a serioulsy narky mood tonight and ofcourse this will only work if you have made reference to your deafness previously - but imagine the feeling of dread that will befall the luckless chap opening that letter...
