Lloyds Tsb Cash Account

Hello, i went into Lloyd's Tsb today and opened a cash account, i have received sort code and pin number from the assistant today and she informed me my card would arrive in 5-7 days now my question is What type of card will i get??? The lady at the bank said it would be a card used for just withdrawing at ATM and not for use in shops etc........ after reading up on this site it appears some have a visa debit card so am a little confused now!! Any info greatly received

It will be a VISA debit card (cashpoint use is restricted to LTSB ATMs or at Post Office counters). There is no other card that can be ordered now on Cash Accounts.

Thanks for the replies......greatly appreciated....will let you all know in a few days what card i received...will be chuffed to pieces if its a visa debit as currentl have just a natwest solo

You will definitely receive a Visa Debit card! I opened a cash account about 2 years ago when it was only an ATM card that was available on the account. When I read on here that Lloyds were now offering a Visa Debit card on the account I called up to report my card lost and received a Visa Debit card in it's place. The card can still only be used at Lloyds TSB ATM machines although I have read rumours that this may change.

Also Lloyds are really quick at sending out the cards I received my original card 2 days after opening the account and I received my Visa Debit card 2 days after reporting it lost. So you will probably get your card on Friday or Saturday!:j

As daverave says, the only bad thing about the account is having to use a Lloyds machine to withdraw cash so you'll have to try and plan around that. Got caught short in Tesco where they were only accepting cash because the debit system went down.

well guys can confirm that i received a visa debit card today..............just dont know why the assistant in the bank didnt inform me it would be this and said it could only be used to withdraw cash at atm's........????? Dead chuffed anyway, can now ditch the solo card

Please don't moan about my funny questions, i'm just curious. So here goes -

Can anyone confirm whether it has a hologram on the back and also is the numbers etched on like all thos prepay cards or is it embossed?

I can confirm that it is etched with Hologram on the back - It looks like a standard current account card and not one of those cheap looking "i can't get a standard bank account" cards
