Well I'm 29 now and my boyfriends 32 and we both just graduated this year. It's actually pretty cool being a mature student and I found that alot of uni staff were more patient and respectful with mature students. I guess because alot of us made sacrifices to get there! I was lucky on my course, most people on it were mature and there were a few in their 50's so we all found ourselves with the same fears etc!

I am a mature student - 37 and have just graduated and have worked out that I got a first in Primary Education. Have a job teaching my first class from September - scary thought as all the responsibility is mine now!!!
  • Hey everyone

I just finished uni 6 weeks ago, and found out last week that i got a 2:2 degree (disappointing- but thats another story)

towards the last few days of uni i joined a few local recruitment agencies, as im not in the best financial situation right now so just care about getting a job for money to pay rent rather than finding a fancy graduate job (for the meantime anyways) I was lucky and got a job temping in a bank which i began the day after my 1st exam, surprisingly i really love the job and wish it would be made permenant (no chance of that though) but its good to see the amount that im in my overdraft significantly decreasing every week - its really keeping me motivated, some of my friends havent even got a job yet, so im happy for the meantime

The next few weeks will be tough need to find a new place to live so that means deposit and eating into the overdraft again :( and im worrying about the prospect of signing a contract with only a temporary employement contract (everyone in the department is on the same and have been there for at least 2 years) but still its the security issue!!

    Hi everyone!

Ive just finished uni and got a first in psychology Bsc! I've got a full time job in the same uni as a research assistant and I'm on a part time phd in the same area as the job.

Made up I got a job so quickly (got it in March!) because I know quite a few people who are still struggling to find a decent job after finishing uni. Think I was lucky, lol.
    Money Saved for a house deposit so far = July 2008 £3331.09, August £4396.40, September £5,048.37 (Target = £9,000 by July 2009) 56% there already!:j

If I have helped you in any way, please thank me! :p
