would this enable me to cancel my o2 contract??

Back in dec i started a new contract with o2 and was offered 600 mins unlimited txt £35.00 a month with a free bluetooth headset and £100 credit. for the first 2 months i had 600 mins but only 500 txt the unlimited txt have now been applied but im still waiting for the 100 credit to be applied. i have been trying to sort this now for 6 months and have taken the proof in to store they keep telling me they are dealing with it. i have spoken to the customer services who have said the store have to sort it. i thought i had lost the reciept so i would just have no knock the £100 on the head but i have just found it. could i now cancel my contract as i have written proof this was offered to me but never applied so would this count has a mis sell as i am having money problem and cant really afford it at the mo as well

  • You could certainly photocopy the receipt. Send it to the cancellations department with an angry letter saying you want to cancel as it hasn't been honoured as agreed.

either 1) they'll honour it quickly, or 2) they'll cancel.

I think the first will happen which is also a good result :)

  • Unfortunately that's kind of against what a contract is about though.

Termination of contract is tough. VERY tough. As I said, send them the letter first but if they do honour it you really don't have much choice.

You could also speak to your local office of fair trading. They're very good at advising you through this type of situation :) Helped me with a big contract issue with Esporta which was good.
