ryanair priority boarding

Options
I've booked flights with hand luggage, and want priority boarding as I'm not too good on my legs, do I have to pay for it now? or does it still say free priority boarding when you print your tickets off, I used them last month and it was free, but now it's saying add £4 each way? Anyone printed off a ticket? can you let me know please.

the "travel questions section" -top left hand tab on home page- has all the info you need.
You can purchase priority boarding when you check in online.

My Unofficial Ryanair Destination Guide has lots of info on buses, trains airport info, resort guides, weather etc etc for most ryanair destinations
  • I booked flights today and noticed that it still says that priority boarding is free when you check in online in the small print.
Can someone clarify this for def please as I am travelling with a small child and it is important we sit together. I didnt pay the extra £4 each way as we are checking in online but if you cant print them off I am concerned now.
Is anyone going in the next few days or has been recently?

Ive just come back from holiday flying with ryanair. On the way back to UK I was given priority tickets for the 3 of us without even asking, wasnt charged, think it was just because we had a young child with us. Depends whos checking you in I think.

Also on the actual flight we wernt allocated seats, we coul djust sit where we wanted too, the plane wasnt that full so we managed to get 3 seats together. (it was the same going out there and coming back)

If you are not good on your legs I would stay in the nice comfy seats in the lounge for as long as possible whilst everyone else queues up for ages.

You can then get up, walk on the plane and sitdown in the small cramped seats for the least time possible.

I was in East Midlands airport a few months ago for a Ryanair flight and people who were not priority were asking when they could start queuing up.

Then Ryanair did the announcement for people to queue, mad rush to queue. About 10 mins later the plane we were going to get on arrived from its destination and started unloading so people were queuing for ages.

I had my lunch and read a load more of my book whilst stretching out then strolled on last to the plane.

hi , we just flew back from Malaga with Ryanair on Saturday. Going out we got to board before everyone else but coming back from Malaga it was just one big free for all!! we went to the gate as soon as it was called only to find one big queue !! what a rip off. cant fault the planes though, lots of leg room.

Exactly my experience flying to Palma recently.

The priority boarding queue was longer than the non-priority and it was obvious from the number of people at the gate that the plane was going to be half full.
One old couple stood at the head of the priority boarding queue for well over an hour before boarding - before the plane had actually reached the gate - to ensure they got the extra leg room seats.
I stayed in my seat with a coffee and my book until the priority queue was almost boarded, strolled to the end of the queue and was seated on the plane in 5 minutes. Okay I didn't get a few inches extra leg room, but then I had a seat and had been seated for over an hour longer than the determined queuers!
No reliance should be placed on the above.

On my Ryanair flights last week and this week, the 'priority' queue was as long (or longer) than the normal queue. Even though I was in the normal queue and at least 50 priority people had got on the plane before us, both I (and the person I was travelling with) got extra leg room seats. And on both flights there were still extra leg room seats left empty throughout the flight.

The only problem that I have come across with boarding late, is if you have a small suitcase that you need to store overhead, the lockers can get a bit full.
  • so am I being a bit thick here , do people know the gate number before it is on the screen and called over the tannoy then? maybe theres a lot of frequent flyers who just know these things, we were surprised to find so many people already at the gate when the flight had only just been called for boarding.

It should be on your ticket given at check-in. Well it always been there the many times I've flown with them.
