Contract Phone Wanted but *not so great* c/rating

I've recently mopped up my financial mess and would like a contract phone. A woman at 'Phones 4 U' advised me that 02 perform the 'harshest' security checks and Orange are the least strict in terms of credit checks.

Anybody heard similar? Or know of good deals for those of us with a less than superb credit history!

Thanks!

I would say it was the other way round. I think Orange are much tougher than O2. My credit rating isnt brilliant either and I didnt have any problems getting a contract with O2. Orange didnt want to know. Having said that though, before joining O2 I was previously with T-mobile for 5yrs.

I would say apply online through O2 rather than through a shop. I went into Phones4U last Saturday and was turned down for a contract phone by O2 but I was then able to apply online on Monday through their website and get accepted. I used all the same details and I expected to be turned down when I applied online as they had turned me down on Saturday which should have showed on my credit report.

An old friend/associate with ccjs was accepted with 02 shop with a £50 refundable deposit, and someone who turned 18 with not so good credit got accepted from t mobile if thats any help.

i think 3 is the easiest for security checks.one of my friends applied in for orange and 3 at same time and same shop.but orange didn't pass his contract while he got contract from 3 without any problem.
so i think 3 is easiest and cheap as well.
