Beware Of Duplicate Usernames

Hi All,
As you will know I have been posting on here and dfw for some time now. I have made many friends and am probably known to most on here.
I was really surprised to find another poster had posted with the same name " in the brown stuff" only where mine is spelt with some capitals ITBS theirs is all in lower case.
This is becoming confusing for other regulars and could lead to people thinking we are the same user. My name, although descriptive and indicative of my current position was I thought unique.
In case people are wondering what the fuss is about imagine if i stared posting under the id PhilNicandAmy or Richard-s FERMI etc DALIP (just used you guys as I have spoken with you all before and you are well known on here to demonstrate a point...)
I have asked the "clone" to change their username but as they have been online all night and I have not had a reply i assume they aren't going to.
Just beware who you are speaking to (maybe pm ing) as it may be a clone.
Also new users maybe worth checking that an identical name isnt already taken.
Moan over, sorry if it seems petty but had to get it off my chest.....
Any thoughts anyone?????

If you feel it is a serious issue then email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com with your concerns.
One privacy issue that would concern me is that someone here might intend to PM you with something personal or sensitive, and accidentally send it to the wrong person.:eek:Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I havnt actually looked but i doubt this forum will be any differant, so the only way to get a name changed is to get an adminastrator to do it
thought id post this here too for clarity, call it a clone post:pThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….0 -
Hi ITBS,
I must admit I'm uncomfortable with the idea of usernames being too similar; there's far too much potential for confusion and embarrassment; I'd hate some unsuspecting other Richard-s to receive some of the emails and P.M's that I do from bltn.:D
There could also be some potential to embarrass you, or cause you problems in real life, but I've not really had time to look at your alter ego's posts to see if they're suspicious.
Perhaps the duplicate "itbs" could think about changing their username; after all, knee deep in sh1te isn't exactly a glamorous name.

Just a tad concerned as some of the posts are along the lines of....
Should I get a loan and buy a car and pay my court fees then go BR etc....
Maybe inflammatory to bait a response, newbie, low post countdare i say the though has crossed my mind mayrbe even a future troll

Hi,
Have to agree guys this is very worrying. I like many on here get some very personal pm's and would hate the thought that I could confuse someone so easily. I think the administrators need to look at that. That Fermi fellow he's well in with those in charge ! - Maybe a word Fermi ?
