I use dh gate and never had any problems. The site holds on to your money until you confirm that you are satisfied with the delivered goods. Also, pay with a credit card for extra protection, should you need it.

Are the savings great enough to warrant the risk (once you factor shipping/duty/VAT)? If so, then find a company that will let you pay via escrow (and not their choice of escrow - that's another common scam!). AliExpress payments are all in escrow, for instance, so your cash is held until the goods are delivered, then the seller gets paid. Even if we're talking a few quid more, it's a smart move when dealing with complete strangers thousands of miles away and any seller resisting is to be avoided.

Also take into account, anyone selling in China, wont usually use a Chinese name. The dealings I have had in China, buying Fireplaces etc, have been with Chinese people called Harry, Andrew, Christine and Sue !

    That's a bit of a coincidence.
My neighbour has 5 children and their names are Harry, Andrew, Sue, Christine and Chang.

Someone once told him that one in five children in the world was Chinese.

Don't deal in Chinese imports do they ? lol

Seriously though, it is correct, I have had emails from them and they are all signed off with western forenames. Must think people will deal with them better if they have an English name.
