I just want to warn people to research a company thoroughly before going into/doing business with them especially overseas. Unfortunately it's too late for me but i hope this will help others.
Well...i am a trader on the well known auction site ebay and have been buying/selling items for nearly 2 yrs and had no problems. I have purchased wholesale lots in the past from wholesalers in the uk and had no problems what so ever, recently i have been trying (like most of the uk) to get a wii fit but with no sucess, i saw them selling on ebay for upto 100 pounds and thought you could make a little profit if you found a reliable source to buy a bulk order and sell on.. So, i typed into google wii fit wholesale or wholesale wii fits and the wholesale web site 'tradekey' appeared near the top of the page, i have registered with tradekey months back but only browse i've never actually bought items until now. I then sent a general enquiry for anyone who can provide wholesale wii fits uk pal version and gave my email address etc. The following day i recieved an email from a guy called IVAN, who apparently can provide such items at reasonable prices leaving me with a good profit, i asked for a web site to look at and this is what he sent me dingfengbiz.com on this site there are photos of electrical goods they are supposed to sell from mobiles to games consoles and even clothing. The company is based in china and he seemed really friendly and provided a price list for all items. He insisted i paid by western union and not bank transfer as this was quicker so i'd get my order sooner, no option to pay by card or paypal, apparently paypal takes too long for them to recieve the money over there...not sure if this is true!!
Well, after umming and arring i reluctantly placed an order for just 5 wii fits costing 425 dollars/ 220 pounds and paid at a local western union branch to the following person....

The first bit is his first and then last name, changsha is the city and obviously the country of china.
I sent IVAN an email to say i'd paid and that i had a mtnc code/ number for him and then he would send items via tnt or dhl and provide me with a tracking number once they had been dispatched. The following day i sent him an email asking if he managed to get the money and when i'd get my wii fits,he replied saying that yes he got my money but unfortunately the wii fits were so popular they were now out of stock and i'd have to wait 3 days for them to come in. I replied saying i think i've just been scammed and i'd report him to the police and guess what! i never heard from him again..I didn't want to leave it here, i used my other email address and pretended to be interested in their products, ivan did not reply but another guy called steven did and then a lady called ann sent an email too asking for my phone number so she could call, i didn't give her it but she gave me a number (fake) to call them on and i did but it was false. i sent an email saying this is a scam and ann replied saying this is a genuine legal wholesaler but they sent me a different website to look at from the one ivan origionally gave me. again i said i thought it was a scam and gave my reasons and i didn't hear from them again.
Lastly i sent an enquiry using my partners email address posing as a business man wanting to invest thousands on the right products and liked his items and inquired about the cost, same as before but the contact email address have changed from ivannanle@hotmail.com to richsteven@hotmail.com and then to steventrading@hotmail.com which i thought was suspicious. he was very polite couldn't help me enough..this time i said i was on business in china in a weeks time and would like to meet him and his collegues and if i liked what i saw then i would pay in cash for the goods. He was fine with this at first then wanted a definite date/time etc and then said the items may not be in stock when i visit so it would be best for me to place a small order now and pay and pay the rest when i visit ( not that i was going to go). this went on for a while and he began to sound stressed, i dropped into conversation ivan, he said he was a collegue of his, the western union account was the same as the one ivan sent me, but when i eventually told him who i actually was he began at first appologising for ivan, that ivan had actually left the company the day before and he was unhappy i had pretended to be someone else. he was rude but said he would see what he could do, then suggested if i paid 1/2 of what i origionally paid into his western union account then he would send me the items but i refused as for all i know he is ivan, or ann or steven...who knows???? since then i have reported this to my local police as fraud and they will be investigating this matter further but said they may not be able to do anything but will also contact the press. I just want whoever this is to stop and pay for what they have done to people like me, innocent victims who thought they'd take a gamble on making a few extra quid for the family which resulted in being scammed out of hard earned money, i am one of the lucky unlucky ones as i only lost 220 pounds but you read other forums and they have lost thousands. so please research first and only do business when you feel comfortable with the ontact and they are genuine, it's too late for me and many others but i hope it may help someone think twice before making a commitment.
Things to check before you hand over some money...
1. check out the web site, if the prices sound too good to be true they probably are!
2. Keep in contact with the company, phone them during office times on several occasions, send an email/ fax.
3. get proof of their company registration certificate..all genuine companys will have one of these and if they want your custom will willingly provide such details. do not accept a photocopy or email version like i got, get them to post it to your home address.
4. If the company only accepts western union or bank transfer the stay well clear, you need to send payment through a secure way so that if it does turn out they are not genuine and have taken your money then you can probably claim it back under fraud.. such payments include paypal, debit/credit cards.
5. Ask to have a photo of the product/s you wish to buy from them with a piece of paper (company letter headed) with your name, the company name and todays date clearly written so you know they actually have the stock to hand.

in china many domains are regd on one persons name so hes basically owning many domains and websites keep changing but can some one guide to an actual website in china that really is not a fake after all and they honor services back to customers as expected??0 -
I believe that I have been scammed. I usually am very cautious with these chinese website but this time I decided to take a chance and order from sellerbar.com. I have done my research before I ordered, google their name and see if anything negative popped up but to my surprise, their was no info on them (positive or negative). What made me a little confused is the fact that they only accept Western Union. My dumb self did it the same day ($500). The same day, he said he sent the stuff to custom and I would have to wait for an additional 3 days before he provides a tracking number.
After 3 days, I got an email stating that I needed to send $265 for some new custom tariff that they just implemented in China. I told him that I don't have any more money. So I told him that he can just keep the items and send me my money back but he said that he cannot do that because custom is holding the goods not him and that I needed to pay today. After I told him to give me the custom number so I can call myself he told me to find the number myself or come to China to check.
I am so angry at no one but myself, I should have known better. Lesson learned. F these chinese thieves.0 -
If you are ever requested to pay any money transfer service such as WU, it will be a scam, and you will never get what you paid for or see your money again."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Exactly what 'research' did you do apart from googling for warnings about them ? There's new sites popping up hourly like this one.
Sellerbar.com = prices too good to be true. EG iphone 5 for just over E200. http://sellerbar.com/productinfo.asp?id=3117
http://whois.domaintools.com/sellerbar.com says the site was only registered a month ago.
http://sellerbar.com/info.asp?id=37 shows their contact details being hotmail and yahoo accounts.
http://sellerbar.com/info.asp?id=40 they only take western union and moneygram transfers (so non-traceable).
If something on the Internet looks too good to be true, it almost always is. For others - beware of this scam site.0 -
