MM must be desperate at the moment - that's pretty blatant and pathetic.0

hi. i realise this is my first post so i am doing it now, before any results come in so folk don't think i work for a broker...
my mortgage fell through with the co-op (not particularly cooperative this time) as my income makes me 'out of policy' as i am a mix of self employed and paye.
after looking on this website i contacted both london&country and mortgage monitor. honestly i have only as yet spoken to london&country as they have a really handy live chat feature. i am constantly only available on mobile so don't find 0800 numbers that handy! they phoned me straight back after asking some basic questions and i spoke to the bloke for around 20 minutes. he is now away (hopefully) finding me a realistic deal on a mortgage.
mortgage monitor don't have the chat feature, or i couldn't find it. i requested a callback this afternoon. we'll wait and see what happens there.
anything i post here will be a true reflection of what is turning out to be the most stressful two days of my life. so far. hopefully i will end up with a flat at the end of it. i have an offer in place and am just waiting for mortgage to clear. the bloke at london&country seemed optimistic but i'll wait and see. so was the bloke at the co op!0 -
Upon recently looking for a mortgage we came across the highly recommended broker London and country. Having spent an eternity filling in their contact form, we fired it off into the ether and eagerly awaited their phone call at the pre-arranged time.7 days later we are still waiting but not perhaps so eagerly.
I have money burning a hole in my pocket - still their loss!0 -
I first contacted Mortgage Monitor a few months ago and I found them to be very honest in that rather than trying to sell me a new product they advised me to go back to my existing mortgage provider and port my mortgage.
Since then my circumstances changed and I went back to Mortgage Monitor to look at different options. Graeme Yetts was very quick to understand my complex situation and knew exactly which providers and products were most appropriate to my very specific needs and requirements.
Arranging a mortgage can be stressful but Graeme was positive and patient throughout the process and gave me clear and concise jargon-free advice. Graeme is a great listener and could empathise with my situation to help me reach a solution.
He also has a good relationship with the mortgage providers which can help overcome any possible obstacles or problems.
The service I received was friendly, prompt and efficient. I would not hesitate to recommend Graeme Yetts to anyone seeking mortgage advice.0 -
We tried mortgage monitor for our mortgage search. Not impressed. We wanted a particular type of mortgage (fixed with offset) and the best the broker came back with was a rate 0.5% higher than one we could find ourselves online.
Plus the broker recommended mortgage provider was 'Accord' who was not a provider we had come accross before and a quick bit of online research showed they had some less than positive feedback.
We decided to ignore his recommendations and went with the (cheaper) product we found online with a high street name.0 -

Can't believe I am (at 11:08 on a saturday night) typing Graeme Yetts into google.......nothing on facebook. There's a Graeme Petts - could be the same bloke. Either way I am officially as sad as him now.

Its amazing how all these 1st time posters register on the MSE forums to post glowing reviews of Mortgage Monitor. A more cynical person than I might be suspicious.0
