I have sold a couple of things on eBay and find that the buyers tend to be a bit flaky when paying for scrap gold.

Found a jewellers http://www.falkosgold.co.uk which pay about the same as eBay but without all the hassle.

I've been going to boot fairs and buying gold then posting off to Falkos for about 6 months now. :j

Ever the one to try and make a few pounds I had a rake through my jewellery box today and found a few broken chains, a broken bracelet and a shquashed sovereign ring, all 9carat gold so i put them on ebay and put the weight in grams and i made £15! Just thought i would share this with other people see if i can help seeing as the price for gold is very good at the moment! :j

Hi there did you list it as scrap gold? and what was your starting bid, i have few things laying around, just thinking i could put it on this eve while listings are 5p
  • Where would the best rate for scrap gold be? online or at the jewellers shop?
thanks. I have a ring which I found in my garden a few years back, took it to a local jewellers and it tested at above 21 carats, worth selling I reckon as it is not very attractive, just a lump of gold on a band! weird in fact.

Generally you get a better quote online. If you dont want to deal online, try printing off a quote from the site and taking it to your local jewellers. you may be able to negotiate a better rate.

Meester - get over yourself. What utter unproductive crap! You may want to pop to Tesco and buy yourself some more spam as I think you have wasted most of your tins on this post. :D
