Thats the page, which appears to be what you have from what you have written. Study text is the big book.

With the CF exams largely obsolete now, are you just doing these for points or is the role you doing only require the certificate level?
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.
  • Yep that the page im looking at, but cant find the book of 16 case studys that ive heard other people talking about!

Well ive done CF1-4 and seems a waste just to stop it now and pick up the R0 exams, especially as i want to get out advising. Currently my Directors are saying that once ive done CF5 i will become a trainee IFA and will be able to advise supervised by the directors until they sign me off as competant. Then i will continue to get to diploma status before RDR so that i can continue to advise. Ive tried to ring the FSA to clearly find out whether this is what i should be doing and what my directors are saying is correct, but unfortunately no one seems to know anything about it at all! So your input on the situation would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  • Hi, i've recently passed the CF5 exam but am currently not working within the Financial Industry and haven't done so for 8 years.

It seems that even though I have passed the exams required to become a Financial Advisor, I don't have the necessary experience in sales.

Are there any other job opportunities that these qualifications can be useful???

I know that becoming a Mortgage Advisor will lead to the experience needed to become a Financial Advisor but I am reluctant to go down this route.

Any help will be gratefully received

  • I have taken the CF5 twice now. Both times I've been confident that I have passed - I've known the major points of all the topics tests and can hold conversation about them! But each time I have failed by a few points. I don't know if I'm just writing the answers in the wrong way or if I'm making glaring errors. Can anyone offer any hint or suggestions, please?

    Thank you
