Being 'poached ' by other mobile companies?

Hi all
Yesterday i recieved a text saying i was entitled to a free phone due to my loyalty and given a landline number to call. I called and was asked questions regarding my telephone usage and told that somone will call me back. I got a call today basically offering me an 18 month contract with 300 free minutes for calls or texts, calls would cost 5p per minutes and minutes cannot be carried over. The cost per month is £15. I'm usually a pay as you go customer on T-mobile with an average spend of about £10-15 per month.
I presumed the company was T-mobile as I am their customer...however the person stated that this offer is actually being offered by 3 network! So basically it seems that if i take up the offer i'm their customer now.
Has this happened to anyone else? They asked for my bank details to send me out the new phone and set up a direct debit. I told them to hold fire because something dosnt seem right....where did they get my details regarding T-mobile??
Any help/ opinions appreciated

It's not another network, but an independent dealer (though there's a small chance they're not phone dealers at all, but identity thieves after your bank details).
They don't know any of your personal details unless you give them; they only know it's a T-mobile number and rang it on a chance.
If you like the deal they're on about, you can get exactly the same thing from 3 either on a contract or with add-on bundles on pay as you go
If they ring again, I'd suggest telling them to get lost.0 -
I periodically get these. It's the mobile phone equivalent of SPAM .. Just ignore them - if you really want to change phone or contract or provider, then do the research and find yourself the best deal for your particular circumstances. It's unlikely that anybody approaching you would be the cheapest you could get.0

Anyone taking out a new contract with 3 is entitled to a new phone, it has nothing to do with your "loyalty" to T-Mobile.0
