Hi there
How about:-
Slice potatoes and onions into a big oven proof dish and make up a stock cube (we love lamb ones) or even some milk..plenty of seasoning and cover it with foil and whack it in the oven (top up the liquid if it starts to boil dry)....once they are all soft -take the foil off and allow the top ones to crisp up... you might think that with no meat it would be boring..but its one of our faves...especially with some home made bread to soak up the extra liquid...you can always put some corned beef through the middle or bacon/sausage on the top for the last few minutes if you have any...
or
drop some chopped bacon in a dry frying pan and cook until some fat is coming out then add a chopped onion and any other veggies you have.. odds n sods in the fridge..peppers, frozen mushrooms/peas etc or if you don't want the meat..do the veg in a little oil...once soft add a tin of chopped tomatoes and a dollop of philli (well the cheaper own brand ones
) and cook over a low heat and stir so you get a creamy tomato sauce.. then throw in some boiled and drained pasta and stir to coat..
what things do you have lurking in the fridge/cupboards? so we can try and stretch things for you:D

deffo use your advantage points for your nappies, im always using mine to buy things when we are skint lol:o
onion soup is a good cheap meal and you can also add it to things like bolognaise cottage pie etc.
i had a bag of frozen diced onions fromtesco for 52p, sweat them off in a little butter/olive oil, add boiled water and some stock cubes, i used 4 bovril cubes cos i like mine meaty
bring it to the boil then turn down low for a few hours, mine was very reduced but i added more boiled water and it was fine:D
i had some for lunch with dry granary toast and it was yumm
also asda and tesco sausages the basic ones i believe are 16p:eek: so bangers n mash or sausage sarnies, casserole or toad in the hole! loads of options really
hope this has helped x:cool:minds is willing , soul remains, this woman cannot be saved

pnq06 - What is in your freezer / store cupboard right now? In terms of food, it's best to start with what you've got and work around that. Tell us what you've got and the cheap meal ideas should flow freely!

This is a really good idea - also check out the 'don't throw away leftovers' thread, there is lots of inspiration on there!
There is also a 'cheapest meals' thread which has some great idea's.
But most of all don't worry - it can be done and I'm sure you'll be able to do it:D
