Really!?...I didn't know it was any different? Especially as you probably pay more via parcelforce...
As for why you would have to pay when it's probably easier to send it to local post office rather than redeliver, who knows..just a way of adding more onto their grossly overpriced and inedequate services I guess....Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
Pennywise wrote:Yes, but that happens in lots of places, not just post offices. I made a special trip to town to the Eearly Learning Centre the other day - sign on the day saying they'd closed early due to staff shortages. Before that, the Max Spielman shop had a sign saying they were closed for lunch due to staff shortages. It's all very annoying, granted, but sometimes you can't stay open for all the hours you advertise. If there was only one person in the Post Office, they may have been ill, needed the toilet, had to leave to catch a bus - sometimes things don't go to plan. It is a bit "off" though just to close and not put up a note explaining why.
I know. It makes the point that one bad experience sticks out above all of the good ones.
It was really the fact that I knocked on the window and they ignored me that bugged me. It was literally five seconds after the blind went down, I only walked (ran, perhaps) across the floor.
I don't use the branch any more. I had to make up an hour at work, and it's too much of a risk. I use branches with five or six cashier people. So the little branch has lost out, and I do think its a shame. But I want service I can rely on, so I've started using only larger post offices.0 -

They must have not even bothered ringing the doorbell.
I would arrange re delivery, but i know that it's a big parcel of baby clothes and various bits so I'm too excited to wait..hehe..will be off to the distribution centre now!
If we want to collect from the distribution centre we have to leave it at least 24 hours (per the card) as the Postie may take the parcel home with him instead of returning to the depot.
