Well it was $500 an ounce around the start of 2006 and its now around $900 dollars an ounce, which is an 80% increase over 3 years.
Edit: Actually as you point out it was $900 dollars a year ago so make that 80% over 2 years.0 -
It's about unchanged against the USD over 12 months0

Maybe Silver is a better bet then: about 30% over 3 years. That's where my precious metal investments are but good luck finding bullion coins around spot right now.0 -

bery,
I placed an order with coininvest this morning. (it was only a fairly small purchase to see how quickly they deliver).
I will keep you updated with how the order progresses.
I doubt very much if you will find a bullion dealer who will accept credit cards. I know that Chard and ATS won't. This is due to the fee that retailers have to pay for accepting card payments (about 2%)0 -

Out of curiosity how much did they charge for delivery?0 -
The delivery was £8.10, but for orders above €2500 (or equivilent in £ or $) it is free.
They don't specify who will deliver, just that it will be UPS, G4S, or a similar courier company.0 -

Is that insured?0 -
Yes, Fully insured (well, that's what the invoice states).
When you pay, it is by bank transfer into a London bank. Coininvest have their head office in London.0
