I am looking for a better mobile deal for my Mum (she is at the end of her current contract with Orange). I did a search on one compare for best deals with 200 any netweork minutes and 100 texts. They came up with a deal with O2 which is supposedly FREE for 12 months apart from an optional 99p a month for an itemised bill. It also includes a free handset. This just doesn't ring true. I must be msising something really obvious! Can anyone help???
Also does anyone know whether O2 have decent coverage?
Thanks!

Ok, I understand now. Having rung the retailer I am told that my Mum will need to pay the monthly subscription and claim back the cashback at 3 monthly intervals. So in effect the line renrtal is completely free. I assume they rely on the fact that people forget to claim the cashback. Is it a difficult process???0

They try to make it difficult but as long as you are well organised and set a few reminders you will be ok, they normally need reminding too after the claim has been sent.
Normally it entails you sending bill no. ? and they give you a couple of weeks grace either side.WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
Blimey what was that ?
That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.0 -

Hi Sarah!!
Welcome to MSE!!
There are various good deals around at the moment, you mention looking on a website that compares prices and thats a very good place to start.
The Cashback schemes are very good so long as your a super organised person and remember to send your bills to the company you signed the contract through to get your cashback.
In my opinion O2 have the best coverage and good customer service. There certainly the best for retaining customers at the end of their contract by offerering amazing retention deals.
Orange have a good deal going the now where you get half price line rental for 6 months, this is not a cash back scheme and the half price is automatically deducted from your monthly bill.
If you were to go on to a plan with 200 X Network mins, i'm sure you would ge this for £15 per month with a choice of free handsets.
