thanks to you all replying, some very valid points,i too have recived items that smell of smoke but am so pleased with the saving i have made i am happy to give them a quick rinse through or a spray of one of them fancy neutralisers......she certainly made enough of a saving to have had dry cleaned many times over. so far she has not replied to my email to her. at present have still not left her a feeback, am considering just leaving a blank space0

The thing is, did she pay quickly? If so she did keep her end of the bargain. If you can't bring yourself to leave feedback then I just wouldn't at all.
This situation could of been a lot worse. She could have negged you, damaging your feedback score even more.
Also, further to my earlier comment, the other reason I wouldn't follow up is becuase she could leave a further follow up comment which make thats positive into a more of a eye drawer.
I think you will just have to put this down to experience and put the whole episode behind you.

I dont think it would bother me if anything smelt of smoke. Usually I wash 2nd hand stuff before I wear it anyway. It makes no difference to me if a seller says they are from a smoke free pet free home.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

It bothers me if things smell of smoke. Xmas pressies from Grannie always stink of smoke from being kept in the house for a few weeks. My DD wants to wear the stuff but has to wait till it's washed. Even visiting means coming home and showering and changing as the smell clings to us even though they don't actually smoke when we are in the room.
I think it's a good idea if people say it's from a smoke free home, especially if it's an item that cannot be cleaned easily.
I think car ads should also say if they have been a smoke free zone. The seats can be sprayed and dashboard polished but the smell soon returns. Then when you put the heaters on - wow the smell really hits you!

I hate getting stuff that smells of smoke, but I wouldn't immediately leave negative feedback. I think the smell can often come from the post van (I know ours does sometimes) - very unpleasant.

The buyer didn't leave negative feedback. It was a comment in a positive, which is why it's not worth the hassle."There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -
I agree with bargainbabe. Just leave them a positive, it will soon drop down the page when you have bought/sold a few more things.
My boyfriend smokes and I sometimes sell clothes I no longer want on Ebay. I always put on the auction page that 'this is a smoking household - if this bothers you please do not bid'. I've never had any complaints from buyers... It wouldn't bother me buying clothes from other smokers either, all they need is a wash (until my boyfriend blows smoke over me, then they need another wash!).0
