*** IMPORTANT *** Call 0191 501 3601 NOT their 0871 number (courtesy of https://www.saynoto0870.com )

I was on hold for about 10 mins but persevere as they're not making much out the call.

I said as the price has went up, and I'm not watching it much anymore, it's not worth it.
He went through a speil about what the have on next season....I still said I prob wouldn't watch it much.
He went through the proccess of going to cancel it...then at the last minute offered me the deal!

*** You are still only tied in for 30 days notice period if you want to cancel later! ***

*** UPDATE ***
I didn't try this, but someone told me that, if you say no to this, they then offer you it 'til March!

    i beat that ;)

i phoned them a couple of weeks ago and they offered me the 5.00 for 3 months or 7.50 for 6 months. i said to the lady what about 5.00 for 6 months? and she said ok. it amazes me that they charged me full price for a while - it shows how much profit they make.

Yeah, it will be going up so just phone!
  • Well, I just phoned up on the 0191 501 3601 number to canel.

First off was a classic...got a lad called Kevin and he said he only dealt with Sky customers so I had to ring back on the 0871 number as I was a Freeview customer. I questioned this and he said other people on the floor did do Freeview so I could call back on the 0191 number and keep trying to get a Freeview person.

Not surprisingly I did laugh and in the end he transfered me to a lass, who once I said I wanted to canel offered me the 6 months at 7.50 or 3 months at a fiver.

I tried it on to get the 6 months for a fiver but she wasn't having it so I'm cancelling.

The whole reason I cancelled was due to the fact that I'd missed the last couple of fights due to Setanta coverage stopping at 3 in the morning and the fight being on after that. I know you can so say use channel 38 but it never worked for me.

So as for today I'm sending cancellation notices to them recorded delivery and I look forward to this being a smooth process!

Hubby called earlier to cancel and they offered him 6 months for £7. He asked how much it would be to get it on the box in the bedroom too and they are giving it to him for £3 for 6 months. So 6 months including multi-room for £10 a month. :T

Just called Setanta (0191 5013601) and said I was thinking of cancelling and I was immediately offered 6 months at £7.50.

Works for me (plus my husband is Scottish and may not have appreciated having no Scottish Premier League to watch!)
